How do you do it.?

Having never taken alcohol on board before, is the best way just carrying it on in hand luggage if it’s only a couple of bottles of wine or spirits or does it have to be scanned through with the suitcases.

We have only bought bottles of spirits on the ship to take home, but I believe you can buy on board for consumption in the confines of your cabin.

Hi

We have not purchased spirits for cabin consumption but we have taken alcohol on board at embarkation many times.

We find the easiest way is to pack it into a small wheelie case and take on as hand luggage. That way we can look after it carefully so drastically reducing the risk of breakages. It also makes it easy to transport.

Kind regards

Julia

We take a bottle of spirits onboard in a special vacuum bottle bag and put it in our suitcase. We then buy mixers in Southampton and take them in our hand luggage.

We order bottles of spirits or wine (if we want any) from room service. Think it was about £16 for a litre bottle of spirits, more than it costs at the end of the cruise. The wine is the same costs as it is on the usual wine menu

Bit out of date there, Gordon’s Gin is now £19. I find that it is so cheap it is not worth carrying it on. Wine on the other hand is better, or cheaper bought on shore.

Here is the in cabin price list.

Thank you all for your answers at least I know how to go about it now.

I see bottles of spirits £16 in Tesco’s now on special offer. We are on Aurora in three weeks time so may just buy on board for spirits and maybe bring a few bottles of wine on.
