138east Posted April 25, 2018 #2 Share Posted April 25, 2018 I haven't seen any posts on this forum about the Fitzpatrick Hotel. I'd research it on Trip Advisor and ask questions there.
Rare Noxequifans Posted April 25, 2018 #3 Share Posted April 25, 2018 TripAdvisor has some good reviews for this hotel. Be aware it is in a very busy location in NYC.
MarlboroBell Posted April 25, 2018 #4 Share Posted April 25, 2018 I stayed there many years ago and it was pretty good. Right next to Grand Central, which makes things easy if you're coming in on Metro-North. (Why would you come in on Metro-North? Well, if you're coming in from New England, cheap parking at an outlying station like West Haven would do it.)

Rare Got2Cruise Posted April 26, 2018 #6 Share Posted April 26, 2018 (edited) Do you mean you are going to be in NYC New Years Eve? Sent from my iPhone using Forums Edited April 26, 2018 by Got2Cruise
Blind Squirrel Posted April 26, 2018 Author #7 Share Posted April 26, 2018 Yep, cruise leaves Manhattan terminal Jan. 2nd. Thought we would catch the red eye the night of Dec.29th. Portland Oregon to JFK for only $250. That’s 3 nights in Manhattan before an 18 night Panama Canal on the Gem. Girlfriend wants to see a broadway play and ice skate at Rockefeller center

It’s far enough from the madness of Times Square that you can avoid the madness on New Years Eve. When it gets closer, reserve a time for the ice skating it’s very popular. Your hotel will be very close to Bryant Park which is set up with a European style Christmas market with a tree and ice skating rink. Very pretty at night. If you have your heart set on a specific show it’s better to purchase now than wait. Make sure you go to the official show website. There are many websites that are third party sellers which add on ridiculous fees.
