lorri111 Posted January 22, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 22, 2018 Still no sign of excursions to Busan on Princess Spring Flowers Japan cruise (or on any other cruise around this time) so have to start thinking of private excursions. Does anyone know how long Korean immigration processes take before we can disembark? What actually is the process? The ship docks at 2pm and we are only in port to 8pm so it is pretty important to know what time we can expect to be actually ashore, in order to plan. Thanks in advance! temilee Posted January 22, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 22, 2018 Diamond Princess you are boarding in Japan is going to dock at Busan International Cruise Terminal adjacent to the main railway station of Busan. As it is a 'normal' cruise terminal with equipment needed for a proper CIQ you have to pass it through, which it will take you at least more than 40 mins to 1 hour. It really depends on the number of passengers on board on that day, but I'm sure you can be outside around 15:00. For foreigners Busan's CIQ via cruise ship is not as complicated as that via flight. Because you have only about four hours for a land tour if you want to travel yourself you are recommended to choose one place or area not far from the port area. Nampodong, Jagalchi fish market are the most popular and recommendable sites and these places are very easy to reach from the terminal. Although it hasn't yet been released shore excursions for English-speakers, I think Princess should have some for English-speakers. Hope you have a great time while in Busan. Tara Jane Posted January 22, 2018 #3 Share Posted January 22, 2018 We have been to Busan twice on Diamond Princess as part of our Japan cruises. Complementary buses took us in to the main shopping strip, from where you could walk to the fish market if you want. First time we did this, the 2nd time we went to the Maritime Museum about 5 mins walk from the ship and had a great time. Free entry and a great aquarium. Free wifi. I don't recall how long it took to get through the formalities.
ROCruiser Posted January 24, 2018 #4 Share Posted January 24, 2018 I honestly do not remember having to go through immigration when we port at Busan in 2015. I could be wrong, but I thought we were out and on the complimentary shuttle pretty quickly.
