Post-cruise flight from Rome

If you look down the board, there are many discussions on this topic. Most ships seem to start disembarking by 7am. It is a one hour drive to FCO. If you are flying direct to the US, you need to allow at least 2 1/2 hours to get through check in, security and get to your gate.

So a flight around 11am is commonly recommended. Many will push that to 10:30. That would definitely require private transport. All discussed here regularly.

What is the earliest you would feel comfortable booking a flight out of Rome on your debarkation day in Civitevecchia? My cruiseline (RCCL) is not providing any guidance which is making looking for airfare a challenge.

1:00pm should be good enough if you get off between 8&9am. We got to the airport shortly after 10am with a 9am shuttle from RomeCabs. I would book later if I was taking the train.
