Johncn Posted May 31, 2010 #2 Share Posted May 31, 2010 Hi, I would rent a car or van at one of the national chains there (check the search feature of this forum for dicount codes)....they'll pick you up at ship and drop you off in most cases if you rent from them. Depending on time of day and weather, the trip will take you about 1:10 to 1:25 each direction. It's an easy drive on the Beachline (Rt. 528) to Exit 2, and take Universal Boulevard and keep going up past Wet 'n Wild to the park. Hope this helps, Johncn

Capt_BJ Posted May 31, 2010 #5 Share Posted May 31, 2010 note . . . this sounds like a cruise stop trip be advised there is ONE major road from Orlando to the port if that road is clear the trip is as stated if there is an accident it is not unusual for this road to be closed for more than an hour. The alternate route will add more than 40 minutes to the trip. Or .. an accident can make the trip 2 hours or more, EASILY. just a warning . . . keishashadow Posted June 1, 2010 #6 Share Posted June 1, 2010 have a group wanting to go from ship in cape canaveral to universal studiosand then back to the ship any recommendations for services looking @ your ticker, ur trip is early January? be aware that Universal has shorter hours in the winter (non weekends/holidays) for a short, one day trip i'd recommend buying a one park tix vs the multipark one unless there is just a ride or 2 in each park u want to enjoy additionally, if driving yourself; the parking garage is a good distance from the 2 parks & can easily take another 1/2 hour to get to your car once u r out of the parks. i'd seriously consider a ship run excursion jik of traffic issues on way back to ship. Lot of clueless tourists driving the beeline, add in a thunderstorm & it can get hairy driving between MCO & U.
