Larainerenee Posted October 4, 2018 #1 Share Posted October 4, 2018 Lisbon is a new port for us. We are planning 3 days pre-cruise and looking for a centrally located hotel. Also, what can we anticipate seeing in 2+ days in the city? We are fairly active mid-60's.
Thejuggler Posted October 7, 2018 #2 Share Posted October 7, 2018 Lisbon is a place to do in areas. On day do castle and old town area and possibly get to the modern Parque Nacional area. Another day do Belem area, if time cross the river to the statue of Christ. Leave one day to escape the city and get the train to Cascais. Takes about half an hour, but its a world away from a busy Lisbon centre. You can walk back to Estoril along the beach and get a train back from there. Ski Mom 2 Posted October 17, 2018 #4 Share Posted October 17, 2018 We spent 4 nights precruise in s past September 2018. We found an Airbnb with a balcony and more space than a standard hotel. We used We Hate Tourism Tours for two different tours on two days. One day we did their lunch with the locals which ran from 12:30 - 3:30 and was wonderful! After lunch we took an Uber up to the castle and walked around. We then walked back to our Airbnb through the streets of Lisbon. The second tour we took with them was a small group tour (6-8) to Sintra with a few other stops. We enjoyed it. This took all day. The other day we spent walking around Lisbon discovering some great places to eat tapas, drink beer, wine, sangria and we did some shopping. The time went very quickly and we enjoyed Lisbon. Here is a photo from one of the areas we walked through as we left the fort and wandered our way back to our place.
TGBoss Posted October 26, 2018 #5 Share Posted October 26, 2018 We are just back from a trip to Portugal. We stayed at the Fontecruz Lisbon ( a Marriott Autograph collection). Great location on Liberdade. Really enjoyed our stay here.
