Normandy beaches from Le Havre?

Has anyone done this trip on their own without using the ships tours?

Is there a local trip that someone could recommend?

How long would it take to get to the beaches?

We are using Minibus tours for a trip from Le Havre to Paris on May 13th when the Jewel stops in Le Havre.

After much research, I selected Overlordtours.com for my D-day beaches tour when we dock in LeHavre. They have great reviews in TripAdvisor as well as these boards.

HIGHLY recommend Overlord! We did an 8 passenger all day private tour last year that hit all the main spots with an excellent guide. Lunch at Sainte Mere Eglise overlooking the church where U.S. paratrooper John Steele got hung up on the steeple was a highlite.

I believe this is the tour that we did also. Great little pizza place in Sainte Mere Eglise. Just down an alley. First time I ever had potatoes on my pizza! This was a fantastic tour. We did it about 5 years ago.
