Looking for a French Polynesia cruise on Oceania Marina March next year.

As most ports are tender ports, wondering if anyone have ever missed a port

due to high waves or wind so tendering was not possible ?

Tender Ports are ;

Moorea, Raiatea, Bora Bora, Nuku Hiva, Fakarava, Rangiroa and Huahine

We went in November of 2015, with Princess(R ship) and no ports were missed due to weather. March can be dramatically different than November.

You can't predict weather.

Have been around FP 4 times and the only port we have ever had to miss because of rough seas (or any other reason) has been Moorea. Wiks

No problems for us with Fakarava and Rangiroa. Missed one of two days on Easter Island, but that's not part of your itinerary, so only mentioning this in case others are going there. Easter Island can be a difficult location.

This thread's title implies this happened and I expected a report on the incidents. Instead it is questioning a possibility. I'm sure it will get a lot of "reads".

As others have stated tender stops can be missed anywhere. A few places, not in the area you are asking about, such as Easter Island are more likely to skip tendering but high waves can prevent even docking and missing a port (we missed our prime stop of Malaga due to wind and wave [as did two other ships at the time]). Also by its very (well loved) nature, FP must be mostly tender.

Wishing you "Fair winds and Following Seas" on what will hopefully be a wonderful cruise, even if you miss a tender stop..
