Ochos Rios -Is scuba worth while?

We are going on Enchantment in January and one of our ports is Ochos Rios. Has anyone dove there? How was it? Did you book with RCCL? Thanks for information.

There are far better dive sites in Jamaica than Ocho Rios. It's OK diving, but nothing to write home about. Having said that, Ocho Rios is kind of a nasty port in itself!:eek:

there's a reason you don't see advertisements for dive trips / dive resorts ......

I've dove Ocho dozens of times - had time to kill when work put me there - I do not recommend it unless circumstances are similar. You can get wet but that's the high point.

I dove in Ocho Rios. Agree with Capt BJ. Don't bother.

They don't protect the environment there, and overfished. Not much to see. But on the other hand it's warm water there. So it beats the cold water in Lake Ontario where it gets really dark and cold and you may see mud and maybe sponge.
