Upgrades through TA

Have any of you received an "upsell" rate by calling your TA a month before your cruise? Do online TA's ever do this?

Not sure exactly what your asking...like asking to upgrade at a special rate? No. Sometimes the cruiseline will reach out to YOU with a special rate, but that's because they have some higher cost rooms to fill....If anything, your best bet would be calling a cruiseline directly if you want to upgrade yourself.

I currently have a balcony room booked through an online TA. My cruise is next month. I have noticed that there are quite a few suites still available. I was wondering if they ever offer a "discount" to upgrade to these rooms. The reason that I am asking is that I'm sure that it is easier for them to fill balcony rooms than the suites. Just wondering if this has ever worked for anyone.

If he booked through a TA, Carnival will not talk to you. any new arrangements would be through the TA
