kalos Posted December 2, 2017 #1 Share Posted December 2, 2017 A little update some of you may not be aware of ... The Maho beach cam that was destroyed in the storms has now been replaced (November) but seems to have a new location further down the runway. Should you wish to view it .... http://www.mahobeachcam.com/ Once on the page remember to click the MIC and ATC into play mode as default is paused. So glad to see this Island and airport getting back to normal :D
CCFC Posted December 2, 2017 #2 Share Posted December 2, 2017 That's impressive even with it being a fair way from Maho beach.
tartanexile81 Posted December 2, 2017 #3 Share Posted December 2, 2017 Thank you for posting and interesting to look at. Personally Maho is the last place I'd want to go to on St Maarten. I like pretty, quiet beaches where I can enjoy silence, the turquoise blue sea, white sand - and a few cocktails :cocktail::cocktail::cocktail::cocktail:
LondonTowner Posted December 4, 2017 #4 Share Posted December 4, 2017 tartanexile81 We did go to Maho Beach, but St Maarten one of our least favourite islands along with Aruba. Too many loud, brash people. However we had done an extremely good island tour with Bernard's Tours. Sent from my iPad using Forums

I've re-read my post and don't think it came over quite how it was meant to. Thank you for posting the link.. Agree with you LT. Love going to islands that make you feel you're in the Caribbean. St Marten's too commercialised and Americanised for me, but hey, each to their own. Last time we were there we had 2 days - no idea why - and did a hotel day pass on the first day to escape the crowds . Will take note of Bernard's Tours for future reference - thanks:D My faves are Tortola (cancelled this year sadly) and Dominica, both stunningly beautiful natural islands. kalos Posted December 4, 2017 Author #6 Share Posted December 4, 2017 Sorry if I sounded rude kalos. I've re-read my post and don't think it came over quite how it was meant to. Thank you for posting the link.. . Nothing to be sorry about tartanexile81, I honestly did read it in the spirit/way that you intended.:D Not that I have not had the chance but we also have no desire to travel to Maho beach, it's a quick trip over the bay for us by water taxi and find a nice front row bed & shade then watch the world go by. As for Aircraft flying over our heads whilst sat on a beach, we did that at Matagorda in Lanzarote, hence no desire for Maho beach.
