ValerieJo Posted March 9, 2013 #1 Share Posted March 9, 2013 Hi Everyone, We'll be in San Juan next week :D. Our flight arrives about 1:15 in the afternoon. We will then go check in to our hotel (for 1 night) which is in the Condado area off the beach. My questions are: Is there plenty of things to do and decent restaurants in the Condado area or should we head to Old San Juan for the evening and dinner? If we should head to OSJ, is there a bus available? Would a taxi be a better choice? Any idea on costs to go from Condado to OSJ? Thanks for any suggestions/comments. Puchungui Posted March 9, 2013 #2 Share Posted March 9, 2013 Hi. Condado area is good place to be for dinner as you may choose from plenty of excellent restaurants. It depends on your taste. If you stay in the Condado area you can walk to Ventana del Mar where you can just sit and relax in a couple of sidewalk bistros around. A taxi from Condado to OSJ is aprox 10$ and its a better way to get there. OSJ is fantastic also for dinner. After dinner you can walk almost the entire OSJ and find excellent coffee shops (La sombra is a good one). Like beers? take a walk to a Old Harbor Brewery. Good beers and nice place. Have a wonderful night in Puerto Rico.
sail7seas Posted March 9, 2013 #3 Share Posted March 9, 2013 Condado is between the airport and Old San Juan. There are plenty of restaurants in Condado area but not the Old San Juan experience. For the one night, depending how tired from travel, we likely would stay near our hotel. Were we there a few nights pre-cruise, we absolutely would go to Old San Juan for dinner. mdrobtx Posted March 10, 2013 #4 Share Posted March 10, 2013 Yes. We recently stayed at the Conrad and found plenty to do for one night before boarding. Restaurants, bars, shopping and casinos. Didn't find it necessary to go over to old SJU.
