Bobby Dee Posted February 29, 2012 #5 Share Posted February 29, 2012 The machine isn't bad but the rake is substantial. Still, I enjoyed playing. They had several tournaments each day, but be sure to sign up for it well in advance. At other times they tried to put together cash games. Gonzo70 Posted February 29, 2012 #6 Share Posted February 29, 2012 They have two electronic Poker Pro tables. They run two Texas Hole 'Em tournaments per day on sea days (at least last time I sailed on Equinox) with an entry of $60 per/person. They also ran $1/$2 No Limit cash games each evening. Only problem was the house takes a much larger cut (both for the tournaments and cash games) than any land based casino.
Rare ghstudio Posted February 29, 2012 #7 Share Posted February 29, 2012 last time I asked, the machines rake 15% off the top. That's beyond usury  If you want to play, play in the tournaments...but if you play on your own, you will be seriously fleeced.

Tournaments aren't any better; the house takes a crazy amount of the entry fee. I love Texas Hold 'Em but opted out last cruise as the rakes are just too high. Clydesmom7865 Posted February 29, 2012 #9 Share Posted February 29, 2012 They have a texas holdem machine....but no other poker tables. Not true. They have some 3 card poker tables. I watched a new buddy on our cruise play several times. Majority of the tables black jack and one craps table though. Better odds at black jack: I made about $300 on the cruise. I don't think many poker players consider 3 card poker where you play against the dealer to actually be poker.
gymjudge55 Posted March 1, 2012 #11 Share Posted March 1, 2012 3 card poker is not poker, it's a casino card game similar to Let It Ride. I have had a great run in Vegas and local casinos on that game, hope it continues for the cruise, I love it and hope the table limit is $5.
