There just isn't much in that area as far as chain restaurants go. You are close to a very popular restaurant named Rustic Inn, has some great seafood/crabs/pasta dishes. They are a bit pricey, but its well worth it.

It's a good area if you have a car, but not so great if you don't (but then again you stayed there prenight for a cruise, and it does that very well).

The Rendezvous is almost next door to the Ramada...

The Rustic Inn is about a mile and a half to the south, but you have to dog-leg around Highway 84 to get there...

Lester's Diner is 1.7 miles to the east on 84...

I think the Heidelberg (1 mile east) looks interesting every time I drive by, but I've never eaten there...

I also like Mom & Pop places..but when I'm in Fort Lauderdale I love the Cracker Barrel and we will drive to find the closest one.

There's not really any Cracker Barrel locations in Ft Lauderdale. The closest ones are about 15 miles north in Deerfield Beach and 11 miles south in Pembroke Pines. They recently tried to buy a lot on Griffin Road in Dania Beach to build a new one, but the deal fell apart.

Yes...and the reason I "drive" to get to one...Closest one to me at home (California's west coast) is in Arizona...so any time I'm in Ft Lauderdale pre-cruise it's a short drive for us regardless...Many lots for sale in the LA/Ventura county area I wish they would buy :)

LOL!

I used to live in Tennessee where there is one at literally EVERY Interstate exit.
