agnesd Posted August 20, 2006 #2 Share Posted August 20, 2006 I went with Globus 2 years ago on the Legendary Danube. They were using Avalon Waterways. All brand new ships. Beautiful cruise and ship. I choice going through Globus (or Brendan) because of their trip insurance. Rather than through Avalon themselves.
Rare steamboats Posted August 20, 2006 #3 Share Posted August 20, 2006 nan, Avalon Waterways is owned by Globus (Cosmos). They are currently running 3 ships (Artistry - 2004, Poetry - 2005, Tapestry - 2006). All are quite new, the Tapestry started this season. According to their website two more boats, the Imagery and the Tranquility will be added by 2007. Both boats are of the new twin cruiser style with a hotel barge and a towboat which reduces vibrations and noises in the cabins. All ships are owned by a German investment company called Premicon and fully chartered by Globus Cosmos. So if you want to know more about the Avalon boats search this message board for "Avalon". There are a lot of threads about these boats. steamboats

letsgo39 Posted September 18, 2007 #5 Share Posted September 18, 2007 Same company, same thing. Globus owns Avalon. I believe Globus uses "Trip Mate for the river cruises and "Insure America" for their land tours.I've done both and that is what my documents show.
