Online check in on Southwest

I know that it is a good idea to check right at the 24 hrs ahead a time check in to ensure that I board in the Boarding A class but how do you go about getting your baggage ticketed when you check in online? Do you still have to go to the counter or just the Kiosk? Also when you check in online how early should you get to the airport by?

You can check your luggage curb-side with Southwest, no charge for the first bag. There is a spot on their website telling you when you should arrive at each airport. Generally around 1 1/2 hours before your flight.

Checking in on line just allows you to get your designated number.

You should still arrive to your airport early to check in luggage if you have any and to get through the security lines. On the Southwest Web Site they show recommendations as to when to arrive from a minimum of one hour to longer time for certain airports.

In terms of bags you can have the person at the check in counter help you or at the kiosk you enter data including how many bags and then they will print it out behind the counter as they call you up and place it on your luggage.
