Hi all,

I just went into my reservation and looked around and then logged out.

15 minutes later I went back in and got this message:

ACCESS TO BOOKING ID xxxxxxx DENIED. BOOKING IS LOCKED

Anyone have any idea of what's going on?

thanks!

yes, because you were in there, you locked anyone else out. when you tried to go back in they didn't know it was you. it will take a while to clear. are you a TA? if not did your TA give you the password etc. to get in? not complaining, just asking. did you have any trouble getting into your reservation?

Another tip, if you're in your reservation, always "ignore" the reservation. Don't just log out. If you ignore the reservation you can get right back into it, if you just log out, that's when the lock out happens. Like someone else said, it's usually just 15 minutes and then it re-opens for access.

Ladies: Thanks for your help. I'm tired and lazy right now so I didn't go back to CP's website, but according to your answers, I should be fine now. Besides, I got my docs today...I just have to remember to call RCI tomorrow so they can send me the PDF confirmation so I can see my $150 Visa credit! cuz I'm not seeing it anywhere now!

As for the TA question, I'm not a TA. I worked from Jan '08 - about May '09 for a tour operator on Long Island. It specializes in small (15 pax max) tours to the UK and Ireland. Because of that, we had an IATA number. Because of THAT, (and the fact that we could certainly act as TAs and book cruises or any other tours or FITs that people wanted) my boss had/has access to CP (the woman cruises like 5 times a year, lucky dog).

So I asked her for access. I'm paying only $30 less than the average person (that 10% commission on a cabin that lists for $480 is a JOKE) but I can use CP to modify my reservation without calling RCI or something...not that I've used it (I paid and booked over the phone directly with RCI!) but it's nice to have in case I want to change ANYTHING.

So one woman who started working there just before I left has been a TA for 20 years (and was nominated as the Freedom's Godmother) told me that since she was cruise specialist, she could use a certificate to get me an upgrade (which I've never gotten). So every day I go to CP and look for that freakin' upgrade and every day it still says Category N.

Grrrr!!! :)

Signed,

Someone who wants it ALL even though she only paid $650 including pre-paid gratuities for her crappy, little inside cabin but what else does she think she deserves so she should just shut up now and enjoy her cheap cruise...

:)

Someone is in trouble over this! No one should have access to Cruising Power execpt TA's. If someone gave you their name and password......they have violated their terms.

That was my first thought too. And that's not the mention the risks that they've taken with all of their bookings.

BTW, 24 hours later, I just went into CP and my res is still locked and access denied.

You DID work for the company, maybe they took you off because CP is for current TA's (or tour operators in your case) and found out you were still accessing it. Every time you pull up a reservation and send a confirmation or make a change it leave an entry of who and what was done in history.

A reservation can only be accessed by one person at a time. If I am in, and on the phone with customer service, they need me to exit out in order for them to get in. If you didn't carry the reservation all the way to the confirmation page then close out, it will hold it open for a while even if you logged off too.

oh yikes, I didnt read the post where you shouldnt be in there in the first place. You are not an active TA.

The company owner/administrator should have deleted the CP user id immediately, but it sounds like the OP can still log on, since she was able to enter the booking number.

Well you'll all be happy to know I still can't get in, so perhaps my access has been denied.

It's really not a big deal to me. Everything I needed done is done. I made the res. over the phone, actually and never even USED CP. I would just periodically check it to make sure everything still looked good. Sometimes I just get a little excited when I have a cruise booked and paid for. :)
