2011 Silversea cruise schedule

That is earlier than usual, as they normally come out on the Christmas cruise or the one before it.

Regent Seven Seas has stated that their schedule will be out in October too, which is also months early. New trend or keeping up with the Jones' perhaps?

The question is how can one realistically pay any attention to the pricing in these catalogues. No one knows what the economic situation will be in the next few months or year. I'd use these catalogues more for itineraries than pricing.

I agree with Wripro.

Some current promos end today for 2009 and 2010, and new prices are expected to load no later than Friday for those. 2010 is the line's current main focus.

I use brochures only for itinerary and deck plans and always cross reference the website.

I seem to have read that it is 5th October, next Monday that all the changes are going to come. In any case, it will be in the next several days. We don't know what the changes will be. Other cruise lines, e.g. Oceania also "threatened" price increases a couple of weeks ago, their changes didn't seem substantial.

It appears that Silversea has changed its mind. They say that they are not going to release their 2011 itineraries this month. It won't be until close to Christmas as in previous years. So all of us have to be patient!

We called and asked that question a couple of weeks ago, and were told that 2011 schedules would be on their website some time in October.

hmm. looks at date, halloween, October 31 ... they don't appear to be up. Any new guesses?

There has been conflicting news on whether Silversea will release its 2011 itineraries late November or close to Christmas (as their custom in previous years). Seabourn and RSSC released their Spring 2011 itineraries first, and the Summer, Autumn ones later, in "batches", as per their custom. When Silversea releases itineraries, they tend to do so the whole year at once.

While they will not hint on what they are going to do, we have the following feline guesses: They likely will continue with included air for most sailings (as they used to in their early years, and as RSSC is moving towards air inclusive too). We also guess that they will continue with their initial "60% off scheme" (which has only been introduced recently). And the Oceania model of start with maximum discount and let the fare creep upwards if a sailing is selling well, for some reason, seems to be more successful in sales than starting with lower discount, and let the fare drop if a voyage is selling poorly.

We will find out whether the above guesses are close or not before Christmas, presumably.
