Venice hotel pre cruise 1 night looking for convenience..

We will stay after for a few days in a nicer hotel very central but the night between arriving by air at 5 PM and getting on the ship literally eating and sleeping so just want either near the airport or near the port or in between. Looking for location and something nice (not 5 stars but not old or dirty) thanks

There are several hotels that CC folks recommend at or near Piazzale Roma, which is close to the port (5 minutes by cab), easy to get to by land from the airport, and won't break the bank. Just do a quick search of this forum for "piazzale roma hotel" and you'll find several recent threads.
