nicholasis1 Posted November 5, 2009 #1 Share Posted November 5, 2009 when we were on princiess lines, we went to a private island but we had to pay for cabannas and rental of any floats etc. Is there any cost at all when going to cococay and the buffet? thanks:p
GeckoGirl Posted November 5, 2009 #2 Share Posted November 5, 2009 The buffet was free, but I don't know about the floats or cabanas, we didn't use them.
cb at sea Posted November 5, 2009 #3 Share Posted November 5, 2009 There is a charge for the floats---$8-10, or thereabouts. Wait until you get there to see if you really need a float....you don't need to book that in advance. I never saw cabanas, but if they're there, I don't think there's a charge....1st come, 1st served. Food and water-based drinks (just like on the ship) are included. Alcohol and soda will have a charge. Any "excursions", like waverunners, parasailing, bananaboat, etc....have a charge. Aside from alcohol, there's no need to spend a penny on Coco Cay or Labadee! leeanninfla Posted November 5, 2009 #4 Share Posted November 5, 2009 When I am on a cruise that is visiting a private island, I have a bag that goes with me with 2 floaty chairs and a hand pump. They have been on 3 cruises with me now, and going again in 1 1/2 weeks. No cabanas on coco cay, but they do have the floating rock wall and slide that you will have to pay for if you want to use it. mr green Posted November 5, 2009 #5 Share Posted November 5, 2009 There is no extra charge for the food, but the only problem at times is to find a suitable [free], place to eat it. john

cruisinreunion Posted November 5, 2009 #7 Share Posted November 5, 2009 We brought a blow up tube, from the dollar store, and left it there when we were done, no need to lug that back home as we al know they never fold up like they were in the original package. ;) We also brought our own snorkeling equipment instead of renting from the cruise line. Just a nice day to relax and avoid spending too much money. Have a great cruise.
trish1c Posted November 5, 2009 #8 Share Posted November 5, 2009 We brought our own snorkel equioment too but there is still a minimum charge for their safety inflatable vest. I think it was about $2.50.
Rare silentbob007 Posted November 5, 2009 #9 Share Posted November 5, 2009 I do have to say the famous CocoCay drink, the CocoLoco, is a popular and tasty concoction that I always splurge on. ;)
