Rare Hlitner Posted November 16, 2009 #2 Share Posted November 16, 2009 You can get any type of Vaporetto pass (or ticket) at the ACTV Office (this is the vaporetto company) located in the Piazale Roma. This is also the location of the closest vaporetto stop to the port. Its possible to walk from the port terminal to the Piazale Roma in about 20 min. There is also a local bus line that stops just outside the port entrance. I believe the 6/ (must have that slash) goes from the port to the Piazale Roma (it also goes the opposite direction) and you can check with the port officials as to exactly where to stand to catch the bus. The return 6/ bus leaves from right in front of the Piazale Roma ACTV Office and stops at the port entrance (2 min ride). Hank
eh2zed Posted November 16, 2009 #3 Share Posted November 16, 2009 Most hotels sell them for the same price. Make sure it is for ACTV.
teacherman Posted November 17, 2009 #4 Share Posted November 17, 2009 We walked about 20 minutes to Piazzele Roma and bought our ticket. We also overnighted there, so we bought a 24 hour pass, which was a mistake. A 12 hour pass would have been enough, FOR US, as we bought the pass about 10 in the morning and were back on the ship by 10 that night. It seemed that most people just stayed on the ship the second day, unless they had arranged a tour, or REALLY had something they wanted to see. Also, there wer MANY cruise ships there, and some were docked very close to the main area (walking distance) while we were docked at the farthest dock in the terminal area.
