Daisy Fuentes is definitely my least favorite, and perhaps the least deserving choice. I do like the idea of Gloria Estefan, as she battled herself back from temendous odds and represents fun with her entertainment.

I, too, like the idea of having "real life" women represented among the godmothers..........such as a woman who has served her country overseas in Iraq or Afghanistan, leaving family and all that is familiar. [i have a daughter I could recommend....... :) ] There are many women who are role models and activists for our country's well being that would be wonderful godmothers.

Just a thought, but in these days of political correctness, I think Jimmy Buffet would be a wonderful "godmother" for a cruise ship.

(okay, slinking out, ducking and weaving.........)

Since the Oasis is such a game-changing ship, why not think outside the box a little bit, and have a GodPERSON(S), or whatever you would call this unisex title.

It's all in fun anyway, for the most part, so why not mix it up a little? Something to think about for the Allure.

As an experienced cruiser I just don't see a Godmother connection for any except Jayne Seymour (exotic) and Gloria Estefan (perfect cruise style music). Of course, Whoopi

Goldberg was named a godmother to a ship a while back and I could never figure that one out either--if she can't travel on land she stays home!!

I like having women sports figures as opposed to models and personalities as godmothers.

But I think it would have been a better move on their part if they had chosen an actress with clout - Meryl Streep for example rather than Jane Seymour. Sorry, but when a performer's claim to fame is a television series that is 15 years out of production they are definitely scraping the bottom.

And who the heck is Daisy Fuentes?

I misread the title of the poll - thinking worst choise and chose her.

Five years from now (and I know I may have to eat my words then) who will know what a Daisy Fuentes is? It seems to me they would want to choose women with staying power, not a flash in the pan. I think a previous poster made the best suggestion for a television personality - Oprah!

Not impressed with any of the choices as I felt they were either in sports, on tv, etc.

where are the health researchers, for instance, who may have found a new help for cancer?

where are the literary geniuses? does this mean there are no talented women writers?

in this day and age, it seems that beauty counts more than brains

Presumably any celebrity you have actually heard of is busy doing Celebrty Big Brother, or Celebrity I'm Stuck in theJungle, or Celebrity Cooking...........

I would have liked to see some real names like:

Jennifer Anniston for Central Park (Perk get it!)

Oprah for Entertainment

Williams Sisters for Sports

Big Bird for the Kids Zone especially as it is 50th anniversary of Sesame Street

They did tennis with Navagator - Steffi Graf so I can see skipping tennis. I agree - Big Bird would have been wonderful for the Kids Zone.

Central Park - why not get someone from the stage like Roberta Perters, Amy Adams, or Chita Rivera. There is such a rich history to choose from it is a shame to pick the 15 minutes of fame pop stars.

C'MON,YOUR JOKING, RIGHT? I could live with the other choices but, Geezz, WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?

Okay Trev, I agree. Let's start thinking about Allure. And how about we make uni-sex and/or animated.

Since Cosby's TV kid made it to Oasis, my first choice for Allure goes to another of his TV offspring.

FAT ALBERT! (for all the resteraunts)

And why we're at it.

How about SPONGE BOB!! (for the Aqua Theater):D

In Keeping with the Sesame Street theme,

ELMO!! (for the baby room)

Feel free to add your suggestions.;)

OOOOO.....you NAILED it! Boy, wouldn't I LOVE for that to happen? Again, I still have no idea of how in the world a company like RCCL can't seem to get first class, first rate actresses for godmothers. Blows my mind. They should easily be able to get Opie, Sarah Ferguson, and the Williams sisters, hands down. LOVE your ideas!!!

I don't know so much about some of Trevoli's choices (not a fan of Friends or the Simpsons) but I do agree - who are these 15 minutes of fame people?

I'm still trying to figure out who Daisy Fuentes is and why Jane Seymore?

Why, thank you.

I have no idea how the selection of godmother happens.

I'm speculating here, but I would imagine the parent company approaches the individual in question and asks if they'd be interested.

Could be Oprah has been approached, and she declined. God knows, she's got her fingers in a lot pies already.

I'm not a fan of The Simpsons either (I don't think I've ever seen an entire episode), but, like them or not, they've been around for a long time.

It took me a lot of thought on the Youth Zone, as I'm not exactly in touch with the younger generations. Seems like them young un's come and go so fast (or, we wish they would), that none of them has any 'staying power'. That's what made me think of Maggie Simpson. She seems harmless enough.

I really do not understand the choice of celebs for godmothers.

If the cruiselines want to honor someone by naming them godmother of a newly built ship, why don't they select a person who has actually done something to improve the condition of world, or some part of it.

Somehow singers, actresses and other celebrity types just don't make the cut. They're worth millions, and usually are not particularly philanthropic (at least not publicly). They just spend all their big bucks on themselves and their outrageous lifestyles.

Hate to burst your bubble, but all of these celebrities are involved in various causes. Do a Goggle on each one.

I agree with most of the posters so far. Jane Seymour is classy and classic. Love Shawnee and Dana. Gloria is a no brainer for a ship out of South Florida. Daisey?? I don't get that one. Is she GM for the Casino?
