How Long Are Staff Contracts?

I was just wondering what the chances are that I will see some familiar faces when I board Mariner again in January 2011 ~

I am under the impression that staff sign up for 3 or 6 months but then can "re-up" or be "re-hired". Some of the Mariner staff must have been on for a while since they knew some of the guests on my last cruise.

I would LOVE to see some of the same staff again!

Some contracts are 6 months, some are only 3. Their big thing right now is to rotate staff from one ship to another. We were on the Voyager twice in 2009-- 2 months apart. Many of the staff had changed. It is really difficult to tell who you see on a particular cruise. We are hoping to see a couple of people from our November Voyager cruise on the Navigator in May.

We had a steward on the Navigator last summer who told us he was on a 7-month contract, then taking time off and returning to the Voyager next year - which is great because we're on the Voyager next summer and would love to see him again - he was fantastic!!
