stx4mee Posted January 20, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 20, 2010 Hi folks, I was wondering if anyone can tell me once and for all what are the areas on this ship where smoking is allowed? I booked this cruise not thinking that smoking is allowed in staterooms and apparently most public places on the ship and now I am scared to death (non-smokers here travelling with children). Have cruised with RCCL and not run in to this issue in the past. Everytime I call Carnival I get a different answer - HELP!!!! Many thanks in advance. G'ma Posted January 20, 2010 #2 Share Posted January 20, 2010 The smoking policy for Carnival is fleetwide: Smoking is permitted in all cabins and balconies as well as other designated smoking areas around the ship including the casino. There is no smoking in any restaurant and in the show lounge. Many bars are nonsmoking also but some have a smoking section. One side of the ship on outdoor decks is designated for smokers. The only exception is on the new Splendor and Dream which have Spa Suites and Cabins located at the Cloud 9 Spa...there is no smoking in those cabins or balconies. rollmeaway27 Posted January 20, 2010 #3 Share Posted January 20, 2010 I think Carnival should do what they used to do in the airports.Cram all the smokers in 1 or 2 rooms. That way noone else has to smell them. Just my opinion.:)

serene56 Posted January 21, 2010 #8 Share Posted January 21, 2010 smoking is allowed in staterooms and apparently most public places on the ship and now I am scared to death (. MOST public places are NON smoking. ALso in the public areas one side of the ship is smoking (so avoid that side) Casino will also have a part that is non smoking. RedDirtCruiser Posted January 21, 2010 #10 Share Posted January 21, 2010 MaybeCarnaval could outlaw kids on board, or at least keep them all in 1 or 2 rooms so we wouldn't have to smell them.

I can't find that policy on Carnivals website. I'm interested, not because I smoke cigarettes but I am a cigar smoker... I'm sailing on the Elation and have wondered where I'd be able to enjoy a cigar with scotch @ sunset. Can you or someone provide a link to that fleet wide policy? So I guess I'll have to wait until April to know where I can smoke eh? A bit harder to decide how many to bring, but I guess I'll just over stock my smaller humidor. Thanks! On the Fantasy class ships, the bar on the other side on the rear lounge on the promenade deck doubles as a cigar/sports bar. I think that is the only place you will be allowed to smoke a cigar indoors.
