yst347 Posted February 4, 2010 #2 Share Posted February 4, 2010 Ship time on Conquest matches local time in Cozumel except for the March 14, 21, 28 and October 31 sailings. On these sailings Cozumel will be one hour behind Conquest ship time due to the different implementation dates for Daylight Saving Time between the USA and Mexico. Conquest ship time always matches local time in MoBay and Grand Cayman.
firefly333 Posted February 4, 2010 #3 Share Posted February 4, 2010 She will probably dock an hour approx early so that you can get off at the stated time and give the coast guard time to release the ship.

Since we start out on Central time, does this mean that the ship changes time to match time on Grand Cayman? We changed our excursion to an hour later just in case, but I'd still like to know ahead of time if anyone knows for sure. Thanks.

Jamaica and Grand Cayman are both located in the eastern time zone but neither island observes daylight saving time. This means that when the clock moves forward in the USA, Galveston is on the same time as Jamaica and Grand Cayman. During the winter months when the USA operates on standard time the Conquest moves the ship clock forward one hour on Monday night and moves back one hour on Thursday night. This keeps the ship on the same time as the ports. In the summer time no change is necessary as the time in the three stops is the same as Galveston. Except for the sailings I listed above which fall between when the clocks change in the USA and Mexico. Cozumel is in the central time zone and observes daylight saving time, but not on the same dates as the USA hence the discrepancy on those sailings. Others have talked about the docking times, so I won't comment on that. We have used Eagle Ray Divers several times and have no complaints. They are a reputable company and will take good care of you.
