granny49 Posted March 14, 2010 #1 Share Posted March 14, 2010 We are booking Chilkoot tours for WhitePass and Yukon tour with stop a husky puppy camp. Is it overkill to book Husky Homestead Tour in Denali?

Travel_Maven Posted March 15, 2010 #3 Share Posted March 15, 2010 I notice on their website that they pick-up at nearby hotels. Can you drive to their location by car from the Denali Entrance? If so, how far is it? Thanks!

Thanks. This is something I have been turning over in my mind, too. Love those mutts! I would also be interested in knowing whether you can drive there if you have your own car....or are you locked into a hotel pickup?

Jeff has a website and you can call and ask.. i know princess has pick ups.. when i was there i went thru princess but notice on his website his tours are 3 times a day. he is working the dogs all the time. i also met two of his daughters.. i really wanted him to win this time but looks like Lance will win 4 years in a row. timetravler Posted March 15, 2010 #7 Share Posted March 15, 2010 I did the Husky Homestead tour a few years ago and it was one of my favorites. Jeff King was raised very close to where I live in California. His tour really give you an inside look at what Mushing is all about. Great tour! emste Posted March 15, 2010 #8 Share Posted March 15, 2010 Husky Homestead is worth the trip. We went two years ago and loved it. We are going back this summer and I think we will go there again. And like the above posted said, you can never see too many puppies!
