Which canal tour is best?

We will be on the Regatta this August visiting Brugge, Amsterdam. Warnemunde, Visby, Riga, Tallin, Copenhagen, St. Petersburg, Helsinki, Stockholm. I don't think we want to take canal tours in every port that has one, so which one do you recommend: Bruge, Amsterdam (will be there when SAIL Amsterdam is going on), Copenhagen, or St. Petersburg? There is so much to see that we need to make choices. Many of the pictures seem to be taken from the water.

So past Baltic cruisers, which did you like best and why? I also posted this on the Western Europe section as two of the cities are there.

I prefered the Canaltrip in Copenhagen- lots of views of sights from a different angle- Nyhaven, Little Mermaid, etc.

It may also be partly because we weren't tired like we were in St Petersburg.

We did not get to Amsterdam, but we did do the canal boat tours in St petersburg and in Copenhagen and would recommend both very highly. The one in Copenhagen is on my 'Must things to do in Copenhagen' and the canal boat tour in St Petersburg just gave you a nice respite from a long day and added a very different perspective of the city that you ahve just been touring during the day. We are not sorry we did either of them.

Here are a few pix from each tour, I would recommend both of them

In st Petersburg, you travel down some very narrow canals and sneak thru some very low and small bridges

A terrific view of Peter and Paul's Fortress from the water

cruising along, getting a waterside view of things ashore

In Copenhagen, the area where you board the tour, the Nyhavn section is one of the nicest in all Copenhagen

Just wonderful views along the way

And, like St Petersburg, bridges so low you literally need to duck your heads going under them

Cheers
