tip for room service? allowed to bring a bottle of wine onboard?

I've never ordered room service, so I don't know if it is expected to tip, and how much?

 

On carnival, you can bring a bottle of wine on board. Are you allowed to do that with RCCL. Is it okay to pack a wine opener, or is it considered a weapon?

yes you tip, if you order room service between midnight and 5am you will be charged 3.95. No wine allowed

We tip about $1-2 for a small tray...coffee, danish, etc.... and about $5 for a full meal (which, by the way, is difficult to eat in the cabin....there's simply no room and no comfortable place to eat a full meal, unless you're in a suite!)

Tipping is at your discretion except from midnight-5AM where you are charged a service fee automatically. I usually figure a few bucks is sufficient, but there is no "set" or even "encouraged" amount offered by the cruiseline (other than the service charge, of course). You are not supposed to bring wine aboard, and I expect the corkscrew would be an even bigger tell-tale in your luggage.

Just off Explorer this morning. Box wine in suitcase with cloths, no problem and no need for a wine opener, although I did have the one in my purse I always carry. No one questioned it. Tipped 2 to 3$ for morning coffee and pastries.

we have tipped based on the size of the order...a couple drinks or a full meal.

 

Unfortunatly RC has not yet gone the way that most lines (including Celebrity) have and allowed pax to bring a bottle or two on board
