Jimsedge Posted April 2, 2010 #26 Share Posted April 2, 2010 How Do Guys Dress on Celebrity? I think they start with their underwear, one leg at a time, then....
Toothfairy754 Posted April 3, 2010 #27 Share Posted April 3, 2010 On our Millie cruise we had more Tuxes than jackets at the late seating. I was surprised how many tuxes there were onboard. At our table there were 6 gentlemen and 3 of them wore tuxes. This was a Caribbean cruise and we had many people from Britain and Canada. We have found people from Britain and Europe do tend to dress fancier.
GrandLidoRepeater Posted April 3, 2010 #28 Share Posted April 3, 2010 "How do guys dress on Celebrity?" I usually put my shirt on first, then my pants, then the shoes go on last. :D - :D - :D - :D Ha Ha - I kill myself...:p Now that was the best post on dress code ever....:D
lives-to-travel-er Posted April 3, 2010 #29 Share Posted April 3, 2010 I told my DH "Guess what--you don't have to bring your tux to the cruise. Formal night is a little more relaxed." Well, he huffed and puffed and said--"Nope! We're taking Southwest Air--we're bringing my tux. It's the only time I can say "Bond, James Bond.'" Rare vickykay Posted April 3, 2010 #30 Share Posted April 3, 2010 Lives - Suggested the same to my husband but he said that he actually enjoys the opportunity to dress up in his tux (he looks great -his tux actually weighs less than his dark suit). It seems like cruising is the one last place to dress up now a days and it really makes it special - would really hate to see the dress codes go. bobbyleduck Posted April 3, 2010 #31 Share Posted April 3, 2010 Pretty much the same as everywhere else. They put their pants on one leg at a time.:D Happy cruising to all! Bob

I agree - My husband wouldn't dream of NOT wearing his tux on formal nights. I, too, would hate to see the dress codes go, even if they are selectively enforced these days. jackdiamond Posted April 4, 2010 #34 Share Posted April 4, 2010 I don't want to prolong another dress code thread, but will say that I have also been on RCL and don't think that a turtle neck and sports jacket is appropriate on formal night there either. At least wear a shirt and tie with a jacket. You asked how guys dress on Celebrity-I have been on 19 cruises and always follow the dress code. I guarantee you that, even in my tux, no one who ever met me considers me stuffy. Happy Sails to You OOOEEE :D:D Bob and Phyl I concur!
jackdiamond Posted April 4, 2010 #35 Share Posted April 4, 2010 These dress threads never cease to amaze me, since it is merely a matter of good taste and proper manners. If you are lacking in either of the aforesaid then you might be better advised to choose a more casual vacation experience.

Goofyisme Posted April 4, 2010 #37 Share Posted April 4, 2010 No if you're wearin' a kilt. At last I get a really good laugh out of a dress code thread. Just my Scottish ancestry I guess.

Actually it's possible to have good taste & manners and utilize one of the many alternative dining options on formal nights if you don't wish to dress up. Up until a few years ago the formal night dress code applied to most of the ship, including the casino & theatre, that's no longer true.
