Pants -vs- Dress???

Can I get away with dressy pants and dressy blouse/top instead of a dress on formal nights? I only have one dress. I'll be sailing with RCL.

fancy Pantsuit (dressy fabric) is fine but pants and nice tops are more for the casual or semi-formal nights (IMHO).

Dressy slacks and a pretty top will be just fine on formal nights...put on some nice jewelery and I bet you will look lovely:)

 

I have worn ivory flyaway pants with a black and ivory sparkly top and felt more than appropriate.

I almost always wear pants - usually black velvet with a sparkly top - because I hate wearing a dress. I think if it twinkles, it qualifies as formal wear.:D

In this area there are still a lot the very dressy pants outfits around from the holidays in stores like filene's (they're under a bunch of different names around the country, macy's, and lord & taylor. Usually if I have something like that for formal night and can get away without pantyhose, it's dressy pants for me :)

Try Nordstrom's or Loehmann's if you have one in Sacramento. Also Ross or Marshall's may carry them. Look on Ebay, too.
