I enjoyed this board before I left, especially the reviews and helpful info. So here is my review. Cruising were myself, my nine year old son and my parents. We had two balcony cabins on the Lido deck. I have cruised Carnival before, this was my fourth cruise with them. Have also cruised NCL and RCL. I have to say that I have always been partial to Carnival. This was the best cruise I have been on. I can't think of one thing negative.

Embarkation- This was spring break week and the lines were a little long, but overall things went smoothly. We were on the ship by 12:00.

Cabin- 9282 and 9280. Ready by 1:30. We met our cabin steward and asked him if he could open the door between the balconies. He told us he would get the key and do it sometime that day. It was open before we sailed. We stood on the balcony and waved to the people on the Valor. Our cabin stewards name was Johann. He was great. Towel animals every night. He would bring me extra ice for my foot, always friendly.

Camp Carnival- There were alot of kids onboard. Over 300 in my sons age group alone. He enjoyed Camp Carnival very much. I allowed him to sign himself out so he could participate in the scavenger hunts. On the sixth night they had a late night party and he did not get back to the cabin to 4:15 am. The Camp Carnival staff escorted the kids back that night. The staff were friendly and fun and they kept the kids busy.

Food-overall the food was good. We were in the Golden dining room for the first seating. The mac and cheese was great, lobster was good. We had the best wait staff. Gary and Igede. They really made it fun for my son. They remembered all of our names and were just wonderful. The burrito bar was good as was the deli. The pizza was just ok, my son did not like it or the chicken nuggets. I did not try the fish and chips or the sushi bar but they were always busy.

Entertainment- Only went to one show and it was ok, nothing special. I did go to three of the comedy shows in the ebony lounge. They were great. I went to two pg shows and one r show. Thought this was a great thing for Carnival to do. Hope they do it on some of the other ships.

Ports-Nassau- we were only there for a little while. St Thomas was beautiful, we spent a few hours on the beach at Magen's bay. In San Juan we did the Rain Forest tour which we enjoyed. My favorite port was Grand Turk. It is so beautiful there. You have the beach and the pool right where you get off the ship. My son did the flow rider and had a blast.

The ship was clean and beautiful. The big screen on the Lido showed music videos/concerts during the day and movies at night. Lots of thing to do on sea days. All of the staff was very friendly and helpful. My son thought the video arcade was awesome. My mom enjoyed the casino. The lines to the slide were long on sea days, but if you came back from port early there were little to no lines. Yes there were plenty of chair hogs. I sat by one chair for 2 hours and never saw anyone there even though their towel and book were there. The weather was beautiful and we have lots of great memories. My son asked me when we were disembarking "when is our next cruise?" hmm... Soon I hope. :p

I'm going to try and download some pics. Be patient, have not done this before

Absolutely love the pictures! The one of your son standing in the beautiful, blue water in front of the boat is priceless. So glad you enjoyed your trip. We're on the Glory in less than two weeks. How were the counselors in general? Was your son in the 9-11 year old group?

Yes, he was in the 9-11 group. The counselors were friendly and seemed like they enjoyed what they were doing. You can take a tour of Camp Carnival when you board and there was an orientation meeting that night before dinner I was leary of allowing him to sign himself in and out but they told us that he would have to stay in the camp with the younger children when his group did the scavenger hunts. We had a talk and made arrangements on where to meet and it worked our fine. After 10 pm you have to pick them up regardless and the night of the late party the counselors brought them to your cabin. We bought a lanyard in the gift shop so he would not lose his key. Have fun!!

Beautiful pictures, thanks so much. Could you tell me where the picture was taken of the beach with all the lounge chairs, cabins and pool with ocean on both sides. It looks wonderful and fun! Thank you!:D

That was Grand Turk. It was my favorite port. Margaritaville is there with a swim up bar.

Thanks for the review and the awesome pictures! We sail on the Glory May 9th with the same itinerary. Who did you do the rainforest tour with? Did you get to swim near one of the waterfalls? Your son is very cute, he looks like he had a blast! I would LOVE to see more pictures if you have them!:)

Thanks. I have a lot more pictures. Mostly of the ports. We did the rainforest tour through Carnival. It is a long drive there and the traffic is really bad (and I live in Miami). My mom was afraid we might not make it back if we did it with someone else. We did not get to swim in the waterfall, not sure why but my son and some of the other kids climbed up the big rocks and got really close to the waterfall.

I just reread your review and noticed you went to Nassau. Was that a planned port? Our itinerary is the same as yours but we are going to Half Moon Cay and not Nassau. I hope they didn't change it!

It was a planned port. I think they alternate. Nassau was very short, we were only there until 2pm. We got off the ship and walked around the straw market. I think you will enjoy Half Moon Cay more. Have fun.

Thank You for the fantastic review. We live on 4/25 on the Glory.

How did you enjoy the lido deck balcony? Was there a lot of traffic?

The Lido deck balcony was the best cabin I have had. It was quiet and all you had to do was walk out to the pool and the buffet, ice cream, pizza etc. I will request the Lido deck next time.
