Upgrades on RCCL

Can anyone help me with information about getting an upgrade on Royal Caribbean. Is this something that happens automatically if able or is there something that you have to do to sign up for the option?

 

I only found threads to do with Princess with no mention of RCCL.

 

Other than that, any info would be appreciated about travelling in an interior cabin. We haven't done this before so any hints and tips would be appreciated. I guess I just liked looking out the window when I got up and seeing what the weather was like. I don't have that option this time around.

if you're looking at a free upgrade then i have no clue let me know. i know once you get to the port you can ask the purser before you board about upgrading and they give you the price. usually it's half the cost as per usual EXCEPT on the transatlantic cruise or if the cruise is close to being full then it costs MORE. don't ask me why. that's just what i've found.
