RCI airport check in and lugage valet

Recommended Posts

Having read one of the recently posted cruise compass for Liberty, I noticed an RCI facility to check in with certain airlines, AA being one of them. This also stated check in and lugage valet, has anyone used this facility? Please tell me more details.

Yes, I've used it twice. The basic information is on the web page

The key is you must be disembarking at a participating port, traveling exclusively within the United States and on a participating airline, and departing later than the cutoff time for your airport (which is generally mid-afternoon). The service is $20/person and very convenient.

Thanks for this, but one more question. Do you leave your luggage on the ship? We have several hours before our flight to Vegas and thought we could see Miami if we had no luggage.

Yes. You put your bags out as normal. Valet tagged bags are transported to the airport, retagged by your airline (your boarding pass will have your bag tag numbers printed on it), and are delivered at your final destination.

You might also consider doing an excursion through RCI in Miami; they'll deliver you and your bags to the airport at the end of the excursion. The advantage of the Valet is you're checked in, and if you don't have elite status with your airline, check in and security in MIA can be a bear (think morning at McCarran!).

We always use luggage valet when it's available..Remember they also print out your boarding passes too and they will be delivered the night before departure to your cabin..Also to participate in the luggage valet service you will be in one of the first groups off the ship as this is mandatory ...regardless of how late your flight is leaving that day...

Great program. Last year put out our luggage the last night and did not see it again until we arrived in Minneapolis.

Our flight did not leave Ft Lauderdale until 4:00 pm so we caught a cab to Fort Lauderdale had a great seafood lunch a few drinks then to the airport right to security and then the gate. Well worth the $20.00 per person.
