Corner Brook, Newfoundland

This is a new port for us. Can we do it on our own or is a guide necessary ? What are the " must see " sites ? Thought about just renting a car any thoughts on that or any info. would be appreciated. :)

It was a really beautiful place to visit, the colors were amazing! We took a cab to the memorial at the top of the mountain, where there was a great view of the ship with fall colors in the background. We then walked down the mountain, over to a near by creek/lake, then walked back to the ship. There wasn't really that much to do overall. I think if there is an interesting excursion it may be worth while.
