Do ships get in earlier into Alaska ports than scheduled?

In the past, when I have cruised (such as in Hawaii), the cruise ship often would get into port 30 minutes to an hour earlier than the published time (I'm only talking about the ports en-route, not the ending and starting ports). Does this happen in Alaska (Juneau, Haines, Ketchikan) as well?

It can but you can't make your plans depending that it will happen. The distances between ports is usually short enough that they "could" get there sooner but the captains usually plan on meeting their scheduled times and don't get any bonuses for getting the ship there sooner.

Have a great next cruise.

The captains avoid arriving too early due to the schedules of who gets to dock when. Just as they don't depart late. Each takes his turn according to the schedules.

No one wants to pay for extra dock fees Time and tides wait for no man.
