gfranzen Posted June 12, 2010 #1 Share Posted June 12, 2010 Here's a link from the Baltic forum on expected cruise ships at the new cruise terminal. Note that Regent is not listed. I think this means that Regent will use the old terminal, which is a huge problem for anyone doing their own visa tour. The old terminal is too remote and in an area that is unsafe to walk through. Rare RachelG Posted June 12, 2010 #2 Share Posted June 12, 2010 In the past, Voyager has docked right down town, across from the Hermitage. Only the smaller ships can go that far up. It was a great location.
bigdipper Posted June 12, 2010 #3 Share Posted June 12, 2010 We are on Voyager due in St. Petersburg tomorrow AM. Destination folks say we will dock in the Neva. Ralph
basedow Posted June 12, 2010 #4 Share Posted June 12, 2010 That would be good. When we docked there on the Voyager in 2008 we were not in a good place for walking around.
rallydave Posted June 12, 2010 #5 Share Posted June 12, 2010 Last year on the last trip to St. Petersburg we were docked at the end of the industrial port. Was a really awful place to be docked. Had to go thru immigration each way on and off the ship every time and there was no place at all to walk. If we had a Russian visa, the walk to the entrance to the port would have been around a mile and then another half mile to the first shop! Consider yourself lucky to be docked on the Neva or anywhere else!
