When do they upgrade?

We are booked on the Sea Princess for the July 1st sailing out of San Francisco. I was just wondering when this so called "upgrade fairy" makes her visit? Can it be anytime or even this close to sailing? While I am not counting on it I'd like to know when to stop my praying (maybe a strong word) for the fairy to scope out my booking and send me that happy message.

It can happen at anytime, there seems to be no rhyme nor reason as to when it is done and how it is done. You never know until you are on the ship what might happen.

We sail on 6/26 on the Golden and we just got our room assignment today; we did a guarantee for an AD and got an AC

We have never been upgraded ourselves but she did visit someone from our roll call when they checked in. They went from an obstructed view to a balcony. She knew what she was doing as it's all they book now.

I'm sailing on 9/20. The upgrade fairy hit yesterday with a 3 cat upgrade. AD to AA mini. I haven't made final payment. Will there be anyone else on board?
