Diamond Princess 2010 Refit?

I was just wondering if anyone has seen an updated set of deck plans showing the changes that are going to be implemented? I know she's getting the MUTS screen at the pool as well as the Sanctuary, but I am trying to figure out how that would work. Will they put it where the sports court is as they did on the other Grand class ships or do they have another location in mind? I was curious because they cannot move the sports court towards the top/aft of the funnel near skywalkers like on the other Grand class ships and I am sure that they would not go without a court so where will they put it??? Anyone

On some of the other ships it is next to the funnel area between Skywalkers and the funnel. See, for example, the deck plans for the Golden.

 

I do not know if there is room for this on the Diamond.

hm, interesting question. skywalkers on the diamond and sapphire are closer to the funnel. i'm not sure if there's room there still for the sports court.

Actually, the point is that Skywalkers is closer to the elevators on those ships. That does not affect the distance between the elevators and the funnel.

Another query is where will they fit the Wine Bar?The library is there on the Diamond where they have placed Vines on the Golden.It has only been speculation on these boards to date that they are also installing the International Cafe and Vines.

 

Im keen to hear "officially" from Princess what will they actually do in the Drydock?

The library can be combined with the Internet Cafe.

I spoke with a member of the cruise director's staff during the UST who will be an integral member of the drydock team. He advised that MUTS is being installed above the Neptune Reef pool (FWD) and that the basketball court on deck 16 FWD was being scrapped to make room for the Sanctuary.

Did they mention anything about Vines or the International Cafe?

I will be on the Diamond Princess in August 2011 for an Alaskan Cruise. I just recently received the 2011 Alaskan brochure from Princess, and in it they mention the changes that will be made to the Diamond.

 

The features listed include:

There is no mention of Vines or the International Cafe as there is on Golden Princess. And, if you zoom in on the map, it doesn't look like they will be added.
