Do you get VIP boarding with and Aft Wrap??

We are sailing on the Freedom in September. We have an aft wrap (can't wait). My wife called to ask an unrelated question and the Carnival person on the phone told her that Aft Wraps are now treated like a suite with all the VIP perks since the new cabin catagories were made.

Is this true?

I know VIP boarding is not a big deal for some of you, but I want to give it a try. (four away from platinum, so soon it will be every time!)

Aft wraps are nice. I have only been in two on Spirit Class ships. These are listed as suites. And the rooms do have suite amenities. jacuzzi tub walk in closet sitting area with second t.v.. On the larger ships the aft wrap rooms are normal balcony cabins, just with a killer balcony attached.

As for V.I.P. boarding, sometimes it is great and saves you a lot of time. Other times it was the same as waiting in the normal line. Depends on what time all the other people arrive for boarding. At least 3 times I had it for suites, it saved me no time. Last time I had normal boarding for the Dream out of N.Y. I really wish I could have had V.I.P. as this was the slowest embark ever.

All that said, I am now glad to be platinum and get V.I.P. even if I book a 1a.

The last several cruises the VIP boarding is getting worse and worse, then it depends what port, none operate the same. Same with the ships for Platinum and now VIP debarkation, It used to be a Platinum perk to be first off if you wish, now VIP and Platinum are mixed together, that made a big difference. That didn't take Carnival long to mess that perk up. We stoped that, let the VIP/Platinum fight over who gets off first. We hang back on the Lido and go when we want to.
