Luggage Express?

Flying out of Fort Lauderdale on 11/07/2010 and sailing on Liberty of the Seas from Miami. How does Rccl work in regard to luggage express? On carnival, had to meet in a certain time and be escorted off the ship. Does RCCL work in a similar manner?

Yes. Express departure is before the rest of the people. The one caveat is that you MUST be able to carry your own luggage. Sometimes down stairs. We've used it several times and love it.

Sorry for the confusion, I meant Luggage Valet. Carnival calls their program Luggage Express. My question is do you have to meet in a designated spot or can you debark at leisure? Carnival had you meet in a designated spot and you were escorted off the ship. Is RCCL similar?

Yes... On our last cruise on INDY (Mar '10) out of FLL we used Luggage Valet and had to meet at 7:45 to be eligable...This was the only drawback, since we didn't have a flight until early afternoon (1:30pm) but they made it "very" clear..Not sure what would have happened to our luggage if we didn't..But didn't want to chance it...

On Carnival, they called out your name and gave you a sticker that you wore on your shirt. They kept calling someones name over and over and they finally showed up. Don't know what would have happened if they never came. Had to wait an hour before we were cleared and there was only 20 - 25 people participating on Carnival.

Sound like RCCL has a similar procedure.
