Carnival Dream - casino games

Our family of 4 had a great time. We really didnt have any complaints and I won a lot the first day of the cruise playing 3 card poker. I hit a 100.00 here and there on the slot machines. The ship is really nice. I think its tough when there are so many people but overall it was awesome.

I will be sailing the Carnival Dream Oct 23, 2010

Does anyone know what slot machines they have on this ship ?

Anyone know if they have Kitty Glitter and Monopoly ? :)

HHHHHEEEEELLLLLLLLLLOOOOO taecruise2: I hope they made some improvements since i was on the ship. The Pizzaria was the only ship in the Carnival fleet I was on that the pizza was not ready after they said they would make it several times. Lines at resturants could be very long. Don't forget, there are 3,600 passengers on that ship. The dining rooms never opened on time. The ship always shook going into a port. Some of the shows were good. Some of the food was very good and some was very bad.

The miniture golf course was fun.

I hope you have a good time.

Speaking of slots, can anyone who has sailed the Dream tell me how their casino slots compare to other carnival casinos, in terms of number of machines, 1 and 2 cent availability and crowds?

Just came off the Oasis and the casino was amazing, about 95% were penny machines and half the casino is non-smoking. Machines very new and modern as you would expect on a new ship, and payouts were not bad....

Thanks!!

That's the kind of info I was seeking, thankyaverramuch....

I had seen the casino stats on one of the Ocean Playersa Club pages, but it never had any info on Dream or Magic, so did you find this info on a similar page, or is it feedback on a board similar to this one???

Thanks again

Carnival Dream offers a brand new dining experience for passengers. For excitement, fun, and an unforgettable time with friends, guests onboard the Carnival Dream are able to try their hand at blackjack, roulette, slot machines, and more inside the ship’s casino.

Hello,

Just got off Dream after 16 nights (B2B 9 and 7 night cruises), and can try to answer casino questions. Attractive, medium size casino. Sort of expected a bigger floor after being on NCL and Celebrity mostly the last few cruises....and this being a larger ship. Nice bar area....limited sports, though. ESPN and regular TV...no Sunday ticket or exotic channels. No sports book. Smoking was permitted, but not out of control, and only while gaming.

Slots were pretty darn tight, according to my wife, MIL and many others I talked to who played them. Drinks are free after 1500 "points" accumulated, I believe. Cash in, or sign and sail card draw with no advance fee. No cash out.

I don't use slots, but my perception was that the selection of machines was fairly odd...not as many of the usual ones I see. Penny machines and many dollar machines. My wife liked the Zeus II machine, but only one in the casino and it was frequently taken. Lots of progressive machines, and not as many individual machines. Certainly not as many quarter machines as indicated on the chart I posted a few months ago.

My son and I play blackjack, not slots. They had 5 -8 tables going most nights. Only one $5 table most evenings, $10 with $300 maximum most of the tables. Always at least one $25 / $500 minimum table. Dealers hit soft 17, you can double anything, splitting aces limited to one additional card. A few were "Fun 21" variations, or the face up type. We played regular blackjack every day, though.

ALL blackjack on the ship was CSM....no shoe games. None. Nadda. Kind of a let down after last couple ships that had at least one or two shoe dealt tables. The dealers were very competent, and friendly. We did OK overall playing BS.

All Texas Hold 'em poker was the simulated computer screen stuff with real people sitting around a virtual dealing surface, but with individual screens. Two tables. There were some other poker table games, two craps and two roulette tables, I think. It's possible there was only one of each, according to my wife.

Casino was tight on comps as most ships are, but did send free drinks our way eventually after we established a decent theoretical on table games. Casino hosts were alright, but not quite like land based casinos. As a group, we got some free bottles of wine, a champagne, some roses, chocolates and my son got comped an hour long massage one day.

One annoyance was that even though we were Back to Back cruisers, we had to establish our minimums for comps on the second cruise, after playing a great deal on the first cruise. That seems silly.

Hope this helps,

Johncn

I called CPC for my upcoming cruise (Dream, january 22).

They said i am qualified for the "Bon Voyage package" and 150$ cash at the cage.

I cruise twice a year and earn about 3-4000 points per cruise.

At the en of each cruiose, the database is closed, synched with the master and wiped clean. That's why you have to cash before the casino closes or the last night.

John, did you or your wife happen to notice the stakes (1/2 NL, 2/5 NL, etc.) or rake (10% up to $x) of the games? How many people were playing on a nightly basis? Thanks!

HHHHHEEEEELLLLLLLLLLOOOOO Johnson: I was on the Dream two years ago when the ship first came into service. The Casino experience was the worst I've every experienced, not only on a cruise ship, but, including land based casinos. There was only one craps table when I went on it. Two roulette tables and multiple card tables. I don't know if it is different this year, but, last year the dealers were very antagonistic toward the players. It was so bad that people didn't want to play in the casino. That is unusual for a Carnival ship. Last year I was on the QM2 and this year I'm on the new Celebrity Cruise Line ship.

Can't click on the website. Do you know the name of the website? I am going on the Conquest and would like to know what machines they have. I like the one line old-fashioned red, white, blue, triple stars, tabasco, etc. Guess they won't be on them. Does that mean that I will have to play those goofy new machines ha, ha. :).

Could someone please explain to me how you accrue points for free drinks in the casino. I hear you get free drinks when you reach 1500 points, but how do you actually earn them and how many do you earn at a time?

The OPC told me that for every $2.50 you earn 1 point.

Oops! That pertains to slots. Don't know if the $2.50 pertains to tables.
