That spiral staircase is actually on all three ships of the class, the exit sign must be new though as it wasn't their on any of my three cruises on Pacific Sun.

I'm sure when I was on there in April the sign said not to use that staircase as I wanted to go have a look to see where it lead. Maybe I read it wrong and I could have had a look. Damn!!:( I had an idea that was the one you were all referring to.

I'm sure I've read on someone's review that one entrance of the staircase has been blocked off this year, so I bet your are right.

I was kind of expecting it to be a bit more secret for a secret staircase, that one is in the P&O photo archives :P hehe

I thought someone said before there was a secret staircase on the Sun that goes up to a little private bit of deck or with the tenders or something like that before?

The stairs aren't blocked off at either end - at least they weren't when I was on the ship last month. However, I did get told off by one of the staff in the Speakeasy when I arrived at the bottom of the stairs. Seems they're only for use as a fire exit these days.
