Glass beads-loose

Friend is starting her Princess cruise fromVenice on the 4th...and will also be doing Amalfi coast,,etc.etc. and wants to know if any of the shops sell murano glass beads loose..she wants to make earrings for Xmas,.

Well, since your friend is starting in Venice she might want to take the vaporetto over to Murano and look in a few of the glass stores. You can find just about anything over there.....or she could just look in Venice where many shops sell glass. Keep in mind that there is a lot of counterfeit Murano glass (made in China or Eastern Europe) that is even sold in Venice.

Like Hank said going to Murano would be a good start or just go to some of the maller shops in Venice and ask if they have "real" glass beads and if not where can she go.You can't do better than Venice for the beads IMHO.Thgere are some smaller shops on Murano that do carry beads other than the glass factories as well.

There are stores that sell Murano glass beads on the island. You won't get a price really cheaper than if you bought them back home, though. She'll have to do with the thought that they are actually from Murano and she bought them there. That said, I didn't find "bead stores" like I see here in the US. The bead stores had other things, too. You just have to be patient and visit lots of shops.
