Sail out of FLL, Fly into MIA

We are sailing out of FLL on a repo cruise and then flying back into MIA.

I am trying to find a hotel with parking while cruising and then staying overnight when we get back in town.

1. Not sure if we should stay in MIA or FLL

2. Transportation from where we are leaving car to port

3. Transportation from MIA to hotel

Any suggestions? Any other options that I should consider?

I am trying to find a hotel with parking while cruising and then staying overnight when we get back in town. Most of the hotels want you to stay and pay first, then you can leave your car for a week or two.

1. Not sure if we should stay in MIA or FLL Probably easier to stay near MIA so you can quickly recover your car when you fly back in. Check www.parksleepfly.com for deals. Most will be near MIA; Hampton Inn Blue Lagoon has been suggested on these boards for cruise parking deals. LQ East gets mixed reviews

2. Transportation from where we are leaving car to port From the MIA area you could:

a. rent a car one way from MIA to FLL

b. SuperShuttle for about $40 each

c. Car service like Larry's Limos

d. Taxi for $85-100

Whatever you choose, the ride takes 40-45 minutes or so.

3. Transportation from MIA to hotel If you stay near MIA the hotels will offer a free shuttle. Farther out (i.e. Coconut Grove) you will need to taxi.

Any suggestions? Any other options that I should consider?

If you leave your car near FLL you wil have the same transportation issues, but you will need to do it after getting off of a long flight.

Another alternative is to stay where you want and pay to park your car in the long term lot at the MIA airport; good luck!:)
