EllaDuChien Posted October 20, 2010 #1 Share Posted October 20, 2010 We will be traveling on Freedom of the Seas for Thanksgiving this year. Anyone have experience cruising over this holiday? Anything special to look out for? Thanks!
stitchisbad Posted October 20, 2010 #2 Share Posted October 20, 2010 We sailed on FOS last Thanksgiving. It was very crowded with lots and lots of families. We had a great time- Turkey served for dinner on Thanksgiving with a special take home menu.

dohertm1 Posted October 20, 2010 #4 Share Posted October 20, 2010 You are going to love the Freedom. It will be a great Thanksgiving. So much on board for the kids and the meals in the main dining room are terrific. Beautiful ship, great amenities for adults too. You wont' be disappointed. We have sailed on the Freedom when it is full and there are still plenty of places to relax and find peace and quiet.
sjcruiser Posted October 20, 2010 #5 Share Posted October 20, 2010 Sailed on the Explorer last Thanksgiving. There's the traditional Thanksgiving Dinner, plus other menu offerings. Later that night they start to put up the Christmas decorations and tree. All of the decorations are mainly in the Promenade area.
Cruise-Nut Posted October 21, 2010 #6 Share Posted October 21, 2010 We won't cruise during Thanksgiving ever again. Call us traditional but we really missed the whole turkey at the table etc... We had two families with us but it still is not the same. I miss everyone being together, watching football etc... We had a good time and all but just missed the traditional holiday. kathyemma Posted October 21, 2010 #7 Share Posted October 21, 2010 We sail EVERY Thanksgiving and LOVE it! Be warned - the apple pie they serve for Thanksgiving dinner is AWFUL. You will be tempted to order it - but don't. You kids will have a great time. The kids club is amazing. Have fun. Kathy
