help

when on the 13 hour tour of pyramids and museum, do you have to stay with the guide or can you do your own thing?:)

the guide meets you on the coach and accompanies you throughout the day except ours lived in Cairo so she left on the way back from the pyramids and we were in the capable hands of the driver and armed guard for the journey back to the ship.

We did the museum with a guided tour then some free time in the museum before meeting outside to be led to the coach

We then went for lunch in a hotel near the pyramids. to get there you drive through giza and it is a real slum!

After lunch we visited the Pyramids and then got in the coach for the Sphinx. after the Sphinx it was to the papyrus demo and shop then back through giza to Cairo and then the ship.

Honestly i can't see any opprtunity for doing your own thing and unless you were a seasoned traveller i would not recommend being let loose in Cairo.
