thanks for sharing. those are some really cool pictures, I think my favorite was the one you took of Nassau at sunrise.

a few comments...

1.) you and your BF make a really cute couple and you can tell you guys have a blast together!

2.) who in the hell would go to the Midnight buffett, have all that to choose from and grab the Jello? WEIRD, I tell ya.

3.) from the pics, my theory is that the "mystery towel animal" was a frog with bulging eyes, ROFLMAO.

should we decide to eat lunch or breakfast in the dining room, are there assigned times or seating?

thanks!

I never once ventured to the dining room for lunch or breakfast and I will have to consult my Capers when I get home from work to be positive, but I am fairly certain that breakfast was served each day starting at 7 or 8am in the Washington dining room and lunch was served also in the Washington dining room starting at 11a or 12p each day. If it is anything like my Conquest cruise, there will not be assigned seating per se, but the waiters will seat you with others at a random table.

hi - great pics thanks - we are taking the same trip same time next year, what was the weather like? i noticed you had jeans on in a couple of pictures...

The weather was warm and the sky was mostly clear (except for in St. Maarten). I wore jeans two days and capris on one day just because I like to wear them - had nothing to do with the temperature! Seas were very smooth all 7 days also.

Do the arcade games cost, and if so, how much?

We played several games of air hockey, raced cars, skateboarded, rode the motorbike....each game cost $1 to play. There are 2 change machines that will give you 4 tokens for $1. Each token acts as 25 cents.

OMG - were you on the Godfrey tour with us in St. Thomas?? We were the only 2 'cruise critic'ers' on the tour! I think I recognize you from your pics, Tonya!

From the 'Canuck' in the back row of the safari bus!

LOL

PS - we had a fantastic cruise! I've yet to look/download our pics - good for you!

I wasn't on the Godfrey tour, but instead ended up on Timmy's Tour...Godfrey was too full. There was a couple from Canada with us on that tour that had signed up for Godfrey's as well...is that you?! biggrin.gif

Beautiful photos! I love your formal dresses! I hope you don't mind but I borrowed your sunset picture. I just love pictures of sunsets and sunrises for my desktop :) I miss Garfields though. Our's just closed this past summer.

I don't mind at all!

Garfields is great! The closest one to me that I know of is 2 hours away though

What wonderful photos, thanks for sharing. I am in charge of planning a group cruise and was thinking of the Valor. How do you think it would be for a group of friends aging from 31-57, some singles, some married?

Thanks again for the photos :)

There were people of all ages from twenty something years old to eighty something years young :) I noticed on my particular cruise that there were a lot of families and married couples, but then one night I went to where the bars are and saw there were a ton of singles too! It was a nice mix of a little bit of everyone. There is always something to do for someone of any age. Like to drink and do crazy stuff? Hang out on the Promenade Deck. Want some quiet time to play cards or games you can check out of the library? Go to Winston's Cigar Bar. Into sports? Head to the Bronx Bar next to the Casino and shops and catch a game. Just want to lay in the sun? Head up top :D

That was just the kind of post that all of us future Valor cruisers needed! Thanks for all the pictures of the room and the great review you did a couple days ago. We have a balcony room booked for the 4-24 sailing and I have been waiting to see some room pictures. Now I am even more excited! What was your stateroom number? We are in 8292 (Veranda Deck) and I am a little concerned about the pool deck being above us. My husband is such a light sleeper.....I may have to bring the earplugs. I could sleep through anything....

Thanks again, and you and your guy are so cute together.

thanks for the weather update - i was considering postponing the trip for a month, but am suffering from cruise withdrawl. went on 2 cruises 2 years in a row, didn't want to make it 3. Thanks again to your wonderful b/f for protecting our country. We salute him.

First of all, I have to say that the pictures were great! There is a group of 100 sailing in July or August, 2006 and your pictures made the date seem even longer! I want to go now.

But ... what was the name of the hotel in Miami that you stayed in? Do you recommend it?

Thanks again for the pics! It looked like you two had a great time!

Thanks for the compliment :)

We were in #6267 on the Upper Deck....there were rooms one deck above us and the Promenade Deck below us. We were right above the men's bathroom that was outside of the Ivanhoe Theater, which we did hear occasional flushing from, but it was nothing I couldn't tolerate - and I am a light sleeper myself! We were not actually bothered by noise at all while we were trying to sleep....it helped I think that we kept the balcony door open all night every nght and the sound of the ocean drowned out any noises that may have potentially woken me up.

We stayed at the Howard Johnson Hialeah Gardens. Supposedly a 3-star hotel, but not really wink.gif The shower stopped working both times I took a shower...the water would just slow to a trickle for about a minute or so and then would come out full force again. I think it might have been on the border of a not-so-good neighborhood....the gas station across the street appeared to have been robbed, but I don't know if it really did get robbed or if all of the police over there just happened to decide to stop for a donut at the same time! So no....I do NOT recommend it! It was clean and the staff was friendly, but with the shower...and the potential robbery....I think I'll fork over an extra $100 for something somewhere else next time I am in Miami!

Hey...where's your review of the Valor?

I wrote a very small one yesterday, just too tired to get into details, but I'd love to read yours. Cheers!

Hey...where's your review of the Valor?

Well hi!!! It sure is a small world. When we were in Nassau, I got into a taxi that had a family of 3 in there as well and it turned out to be "running dad" and "imouttahere65" from the board here! biggrin.gif

My Valor review can be found here.
