Jemima Posted November 27, 2010 #3 Share Posted November 27, 2010 It is not a charter. We were on the first 14 days of the previous 28 day B2B. We did have a brief period of code red, but understood it involved a very small number of people (and that it might have been food eaten in port rather than noro.) Possibly they had a bigger outbreak on the second leg or possibly they are waiting for some very delayed flights. Can't think of other reasons. The cam does not show any outside work going on. casavaha Posted November 27, 2010 #4 Share Posted November 27, 2010 Well it is 9:15pmpst. I would bet they are waiting for a flight. Greg
galleygirl Posted November 27, 2010 #5 Share Posted November 27, 2010 It looks like the gates to the terminal are closed and the bow lights are still on. When bow lights go off then she'll be on her way.
casavaha Posted November 27, 2010 #6 Share Posted November 27, 2010 The longshoremen and port police are racking up the overtime.

DAllenTCY Posted November 27, 2010 #10 Share Posted November 27, 2010 It wasn't because of a delayed flight, all but two guests were onboard by 3:45 pm. Those two were not arriving by air. David
casavaha Posted November 27, 2010 #11 Share Posted November 27, 2010 I got an answer from HAL direct. It was a governmental clearance issue. Involving US Customs. It was not noro or waiting for a passenger. I hope they informed the guests on board. Greg

Not good that they had to depart over 5 hours late, but good that it wasn't a problem with noro or the ship or medical problem. We enjoyed our Oct. 29 Statendam cruise. DAllenTCY Posted November 28, 2010 #14 Share Posted November 28, 2010 It turns out that they could not get one of the lifeboat davits back into position after raising the lifeboat. Mechanics had to be brought in to repair the davit before the US Coast Guard would allow the ship to sail. David
