Pride Drydock - What really happened?

That should be a fun wedding reception. We loved the piano bar, we had the same pianist, Roger, each night. My DD was there every night.

I found the cruise directors, Kurt & Jamie a little annoying, especially their Morning Show, but I heard other people say they loved them. I think it was the over the top cheerfulness that got to me. But I still had a great time and can't wait to cruise again.

Personally, I thought Kirk (correct :)) was very good...definitely not a huge Jamie fan.

The carpet was replaced throughout most of the ship, casino was redesigned (just moved things around) but they did add flat screen tv's at the gaming tables. Serenity are was added to back pool on Lido deck. Was sort of screened in with a trellis type of structure with ADULTS ONLY signs prominently displayed.

Wow, awesome. The one thing Serenity needed on other ships was a pool. Definitely a good idea to have a kid free pool.

They also replaced the tile in the Mermaid Grill. Anyone who sails now will notice that the floor looks dirty alot of the time....that's because instead of the slippery tile that was easy to clean, they replaced it with a textured linoleum tile that holds the dirt. After a couple of sailings where my mostly athletic and certainly able-bodied butt nearly hit the floor, I think that the somewhat dirty floor is preferable. I'm afraid that at some point management will get upset with the appearance and change it back.

The redesign of the aft section was nicely done, although the Serenity area really only meant adding a "fence" of sorts.

Sorry folks for resurrecting this thread, but I was hoping someone might be able to answer my post dry-dock Pride questions -

 Did they update the staterooms to have flat screen tvs yet? Ours was an old boobtube with a remote that we struggled to make work.

 And I'm sure this is a stretch, but they didn't by chance add the seaside theater?

With those two questions in mind, I want to add that when we went in April we had a total blast!

Thanks!

I can't answer your first question, but I can tell you that the Pride did not get a Seaside Theater. Carnival has said that they will not add them to the Spirit or the Fantasy class ships.

No and no. I really cannot believe they did not change out the televisions. They are awful!
