monkeyinhat Posted December 12, 2010 #1 Share Posted December 12, 2010 New to Diamond. saw on our last cruise they had a roped off section in the main dining room for Diamond and above . What is the deal with that? Is there different menus?
seagoer55 Posted December 12, 2010 #2 Share Posted December 12, 2010 Usually it's the same menu...but you get a little more "personal" service..you can all get the fancy coffees..cappichino, expresso's etc at no charge...some mornings they have bloody marys & mimosa's also no charge...it's a nice perk.. CaribeDiver Posted December 12, 2010 #4 Share Posted December 12, 2010 Still can't get eggs Benedict when you want though. It's not like making Hollandaise sauce is a big task...
FLCruiseGirl Posted December 12, 2010 #5 Share Posted December 12, 2010 It really is not a big deal. Just a separate area to sit in. The only real advantage I could see is that, if you can't find a table in the Windjammer, you can go there. We did it once, but didn't bother after that. coordinator23 Posted December 13, 2010 #7 Share Posted December 13, 2010 Just off of Serenade. We had a seperate dining room and Joung, a really fantastic waiter and great source of information (with pictures) about the ports we were in. He could answer any question put to him about the port. Chef had 5 types of granola available (per a table mate) that he made himself - MDR had one generic type. There were many other small differences. Don't know about other ships in the fleet - we usually travel in a group (family) with non-diamond members and do not take advantage of the "perks" too often. Loved the morning service and "Diamond" treatment on Serenade.

There were bloody mary's & mimosa's on the menu one morning on the Majesty last april...I didn't order any...but I didn't see a note anywhere on the menu that there would be a charge for them...
